Money is not only a taboo subject, but also an interesting one. Money arouses interest, especially if it is in large quantities. If we see grandiose, superb things that can be purchased with a large amount of money, we think: “how did some people make money?” “How did they come to have that beautiful car, the gorgeous villa, to afford those luxurious vacations?” It seems to be an interesting subject and a recipe behind it. A secret recipe, it seems. And so it is: it is a recipe! But it is not a secret, but unused on a large scale.
What do some people do to become rich?
If we read the biographies of successful people, we find that they acted when they had the opportunity; they did not think twice. They planned to achieve their financial goals, managed their budget when they had the same earnings as you, saved 10% of their income consistently, created a long-term investment plan, constantly educated and developed themselves, worked for their goals and dreams, consulted with specialists and made long-term decisions. They also encountered obstacles, but they had a plan for them. They had the necessary reserves to overcome them, because, in their plan, they also provided for detours. In life, not everything goes smoothly. They managed their negative emotions, did not self-sabotage and were receptive to the information found on the way to their goals.
I am talking here about people who achieved success, but did not receive it or obtained material benefits through illegal means. I am talking about people who created their financial success, who created their wealth in their generation and these are also the ones who will keep their wealth, regardless of what laws come, “whoever is in power”, because it is money obtained as a consequence of their development and as a result of the value created.
No secret, in conclusion! They are only “normal” things, but important for the responsibility and perseverance of achieving financial success. The “secret” is what is not seen, like the base of an iceberg. What is seen is what attracts attention, and what is not seen is not as interesting. Many want to have money, drive a powerful car, live in a gorgeous villa, travel to exotic destinations, but they are not willing to educate themselves, develop themselves, plan and not deviate from the plan. They are not willing to give up everyday “pleasures”, namely: watching TV, going out, talking about politics, with friends, after work. They are not willing to give up vacations in the mountains or weekends to develop themselves, to create value for themselves and for their pocket. They are not willing to save, invest money, sacrifice their relaxing time with their girlfriend to develop a business for the idea of spending quality time later, in financial and psychological relaxation at the same time. They only want the final benefit, without putting in the work behind it.
All these responsibilities behind the car, the villa and the vacations do not satisfy interest. On the contrary, it is no longer motivating. Constantly putting in the work without achieving immediate success, being patient and persevering in development and involvement is not desirable. When they find out the price paid for success, “pain” occurs. Short-term “pain” because they no longer have to spend so much time with friends, to have useless discussions about something they cannot change (because it is not possible for them). They are not willing to live this life until they reach what they have set out to do. That is why there are not many people who possess something great. The pain of working for a while so that they don’t have to take vacations “whenever possible”, and only go on vacation “on sale”, buy clothes on sale, drink a beer in the corner restaurant because they can’t afford anything else, take their children to school by tram, and if they want to go to study abroad, they urge them to work “because that’s how I worked to have it” is too great and they give up. They’d rather work 10 hours a day, every day, spend all their money in the city with friends discussing politics and the fact that dignitaries don’t want to increase their salaries, and at retirement age they’ll complain that they don’t have enough to pay for their medicine and have to choose between paying for their maintenance or eating.
The Psychology of Money
Money comes to people who respect it, who keep it and do not waste it. There are many who, although they do not have a high salary, put aside 10%. They create a habit that will bring them long-term benefits. “Self-taxation” helps us get through difficult periods in our lives and achieve what we set out to do, through our own strength. When you have money, you can do everything you want with it, without waiting to receive it. In a crisis situation, if you lose your job, you will not wait for unemployment because you have money set aside from which you can support yourself.
Efficient money management, not only when you end up earning more, is the “winning ticket”. Acting immediately for your financial security propels you into the category of people who have money. Furthermore, if you want to become rich, you can put the money you save to work for you. There is this investment mechanism that helps you multiply your money, putting it into the economy and helping it develop. When money creates value, you will benefit from the development of the economy of your country or the country in which you invested, from the area in which you invested.
Just waiting to earn more, without doing anything different, for something to happen and for you to receive everything you wanted cannot be true. That is not how things work in the world. You need to work, to act and do it as quickly as possible because otherwise time flies. Time is an important resource in financial life. It takes time and money to produce money. What do you mean? You need more time for your money, that small amount that you put aside, to accumulate. If you have large amounts of money that you can save/invest, you don’t need much time to save up a large sum. However, most people don’t have large amounts of money, so we need to take our time as an ally in financial achievement.
We are beings with diverse needs and most of them require money to satisfy them. Some of them require a lot of money. Do you want many things, do you have many needs to achieve? Then, when do you start saving to achieve these financial goals? Yesterday would have been the best time to do it. The more time passes, the more you need to discipline yourself and implement successful habits in your life: perseverance, saving and investing money, patience and a prosperous mindset.
Success in becoming aware of money (and the path to achieving your financial goals)!
