You may have heard that most successful business people in America do not have higher education. They did not even graduate from high school. Maybe you have read Brian Tracy’s book: “Changing Your Thinking, Changing Your Life” and found this study. Didn’t it intrigue you?
This study, more precisely the results of this study, intrigued me, because I lived in a family that emphasized learning, going to school, because “only in this way can you become someone.” I lived in a family where I had to learn in order to be able to have a well-paid job. However, it seems that the recipe for success is not school and academic intelligence.
The study reveals that something else is helpful in succeeding in life and business. These successful businessmen from America, although they did not follow a high level of education, have something that not many people have, namely: managing needs, a high level of aspiration towards success and for them “butterflies fly in formation”.
“Education is what remains after you have forgotten everything you learned in school.” (A. Einstein)
It seems that there is something much more important than the theoretical, academic part. But what about butterflies?
Successful business people, from the study published by Brian Tracy, “butterflies fly in formation”; “butterflies” representing emotions. Successful business people demonstrate a great ability to manage emotions towards success. Emotional intelligence is very important in achieving success, since academic intelligence decreases with the age of 20 (say specialists in the field), on the other hand, emotional intelligence is not fixed, but benefits from ascension throughout life, depending on personal experiences.
Those who are “trainers” with their lives, who train their thoughts so that they do not sabotage their success, and those who manage their emotions, benefit from the riches of this world. Unlimited resources are accessible to people who manage their emotions and do not repress them. They are accessible to those who accept failure and learn from their own or others’ mistakes.
Emotions are both positive and negative.
Negative emotions also have their role. And those who make “butterflies fly in formation” accept these emotions and determine them to go in the same direction: towards their success.
How many of you don’t know people who were afraid to speak in public and, despite this, are now the best speakers? They studied and turned their minus into a plus. They made fear an ally. Instead of letting fear control them, they studied the origin of fear and no longer let it “get in their head.” Because they set out to achieve that result: to give a public presentation. They worked with them so that emotions would not thwart their plan.
Emotions can thwart your plan and prevent you from managing your emotions. Short-term happiness puts your long-term happiness at risk. Buying a cosmetic or clothing item brings you satisfaction in the moment, but it prevents you from obtaining satisfaction later. Let’s say you want to have 1,000,000 euros in your account at retirement age or the money needed for a vacation home. If you give in to the emotions of the moment every time that urge you to spend recklessly, you will never get where you set out to. You will never have that money in your account, you will not have that vacation home. Managing emotions requires awareness and willpower. These are the secrets of successful business people. They have all of this and manage to maintain their focus on what is important to them, even if it is further away.
You may find it difficult to manage your emotions and adopt such behavior. I totally agree! That’s why there are not many successful business people in the world. 1% of the population is truly successful. What you have to remember is that it is not impossible. Natalie H. Jenkins, Scott M. Stanley, William C. Bailey and Howard J. Mark in the book: “How Much Did You Spend on This?”, show that many people have managed to defeat their momentary impulses, the impulse to spend recklessly, adopting a minimalist life, managing their needs. Living in a small house reduces much of the expenses. Also a car that is not new. And the purchase of goods during the discount period has determined the transition from an average level, from a financial point of view, to a high level, that of being millionaires. This management of emotions and the will to succeed takes you where you want to go.
Needs and money
Returning to the American study, successful business people manage their needs. They do not spend more than they need. They analyze an opportunity, make a budget and follow it exactly; they analyze contexts and people.
Successful business people have a high level of aspiration towards success. The aspiration towards success is synonymous with the law of attraction and paranoid thinking in reverse. These successful people or people with money (as they are called by the majority of the population) think that the success they want for their business, for their professional life, they will achieve. Everything they do is done to achieve their goals, and the entire Universe conspires towards achieving the desired outcome.
People who have money (not necessarily rich) set a low level of spending in order to save for their psychological and financial safety and comfort. The high level of aspiration for success is determined by the way we think. If we think and believe, at the same time, that we are not lucky, that we do not deserve to have money or that we will never be successful; we think “low level”. Or if we consider that there are people who are “born rich” or to whom only good things happen, and we are not part of this category, then we really do not attract anything good into our lives – the law of universal attraction. Just as a paranoid person thinks: that everyone is conspiring against him, the successful person thinks that everyone loves him, that he is a good person and will be rewarded, at a certain point, because he also does good to others. By the law of compensation, he will receive. Thinking like the paranoid person, but in reverse, helps him attract to himself only moments and people favorable to financial and personal development.
If you do not agree with this study and its implications, then please look around you and analyze the situation of several people. See what those who have money do, those who do not have money. See how some think and how others think. Notice what some have, what others can afford and what others cannot afford. .
